At PSE, responsible marketing is part of how we work, not an afterthought.
As a Direct Mail agency, we know paper is a powerful channel, and we also know it comes with a responsibility to minimise our environmental impact.
In 2025, we carbon balanced 555.3 tonnes of paper, helping to protect 59,501 square metres (14.7 acres) of threatened habitat and offsetting 311.52 tonnes of CO₂e.
It’s one of the ways we make sure the campaigns we deliver for our clients work harder for results, and lighter on the planet.
What is carbon balancing?
Carbon balancing is the process of offsetting unavoidable emissions by investing in projects that reduce or absorb carbon elsewhere.
For us, this means supporting conservation and habitat protection initiatives that actively remove or store carbon, creating a measurable, net-positive environmental impact alongside the Direct Mail we produce.
Why it matters
Direct Mail remains one of the most effective, accountable marketing channels. But effectiveness shouldn’t come at the expense of the environment.
Carbon balancing helps:
• protect threatened forests and biodiversity
• absorb carbon from the atmosphere
• reduce the overall footprint of print and production
• give clients confidence that sustainability is considered at every stage
It’s about taking responsibility for what we use and giving something meaningful back.
Our 2025 impact
Paper carbon balanced: 555.3 tonnes
CO₂e offset: 311.52 tonnes
Threatened habitat preserved: 59,501 square metres (14.7 acres)
These aren’t just numbers, they represent real land protected and long-term environmental value created.
Working with trusted partners
We support the World Land Trust Carbon Balanced programme, which protects and restores threatened ecosystems around the world.
By balancing our paper through verified conservation projects, we help safeguard habitats that would otherwise be at risk.
Why We Support This Initiative
“Supporting initiatives like Mangrove Regeneration reflects our commitment to responsible marketing and sustainable practices. These projects don’t just offset our carbon footprint—they give back to communities, restore vital ecosystems, and help tackle the climate crisis head-on. At PSE, we see this as a natural extension of our values and our responsibility to make a meaningful difference.”
