Print Strategy Europe (PSE) is pleased to announce that COO Phil Newton has joined the DMA AI Council, a group of industry leaders focused on helping organisations adopt artificial intelligence effectively, responsibly and with measurable business impact.
Established by the Data & Marketing Association (DMA), the AI Council brings together experienced practitioners from across the marketing, technology and communications sectors to support businesses navigating the rapidly evolving AI landscape. The Council’s objective is to provide practical guidance, share real-world implementation experiences and help marketers move from AI curiosity to confident adoption.
Chaired by AI consultant, trainer and agency founder Kerry Harrison, the Council aims to help organisations understand not only where AI can deliver efficiencies, but also how it can strengthen customer relationships, improve effectiveness and support better business outcomes. A key focus is ensuring AI is deployed responsibly, with consideration for governance, ethics, data privacy and long-term business value.
For PSE, Phil’s appointment reflects the growing role AI is playing across the customer communications and marketing industry.
As organisations seek new ways to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences and unlock greater value from their data, AI is becoming an increasingly important part of the conversation. However, many businesses continue to face challenges around implementation, governance and identifying where the technology can have the greatest impact. The DMA AI Council was created specifically to help address these challenges by bringing together expertise from across the industry and sharing practical best practice.
Phil’s involvement will enable PSE to contribute directly to these discussions while remaining at the forefront of emerging developments that are shaping the future of customer communications.

“AI presents significant opportunities for businesses, but success comes from applying it in the right way. I’m looking forward to contributing to the Council’s work, sharing practical experiences and learning from fellow members as we help organisations adopt AI responsibly and effectively.”
At PSE, AI is already supporting innovation across a range of business processes, from operational efficiencies and workflow automation through to marketing effectiveness and customer communications. By participating in the DMA AI Council, PSE will continue to strengthen its understanding of emerging best practice and help clients navigate an increasingly AI-enabled future.
The Council’s work aligns closely with PSE’s approach to innovation: focusing not on technology for technology’s sake, but on practical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes for businesses and their customers. As AI adoption accelerates across the industry, collaboration between practitioners, technology experts and marketers will play an important role in ensuring organisations can realise its benefits responsibly and effectively.
